"Goodnight Noises Everywhere"

"Goodnight stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere."

What better way to begin a blog about bedtime stories than with the ultimate nighttime read, Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise BrownGoodnight Moon is the classic board book filled with goodnight wishes from a little bunny, who in typical toddler fashion must say goodnight to everything around him before going to sleep.  Beautiful in its simplicity, the soothing repetition of the classic poem is enchanting to both children and adults.  Goodnight Moon became a staple of our bedtime routine when my daughter was a baby, and now at 3 years old, she still enjoys finding the little mouse in each illustration of "the great green room."  Filled with charm and bedtime magic, Goodnight Moon is a must for every children's book collection.

  1. Also one of our favorites! I had never even heard of this book until I had a child. I took great delight in the first time my daughter started finding the little mouse on each page and then pretending to holding it in her hand and make a cute little noise! Now at the age of 4 she will read it to me (from memory that is) and her little sister which brings great joy to my heart.
